Love is a Choice

This may look like an ordinary picnic table. But I'm telling you, it's 𝙨𝙥𝙚𝙘𝙞𝙖𝙡.

This is where my hubby proposed to me almost 20 years ago!

I drove by today, as I have hundreds and hundreds of times throughout the years, and thought, imagine all the conversations that have occurred at that table.

Meals shared, celebrations, family time, friends hanging out, maybe breakups and makeouts?!

That table represents one of the most 𝙞𝙢𝙥𝙤𝙧𝙩𝙖𝙣𝙩 decisions of my life.

As I look at my oldest daughter's age and her friends and I think of them as KIDS, but those kids are getting married and having babies...

Did I really understand or comprehend how huge that decision was almost 20 years ago??

No. I don't believe I did.

𝙇𝙪𝙘𝙠𝙞𝙡𝙮, I made that very important decision and am still to this day grateful I did. It hasn't been easy.

We've had to learn how to respect, honor, and cherish each other.

We've had to learn to place boundaries with relationships not supportive, loving, or kind to us.

We've chosen to support and encourage each other.

For any of you in that stage of life where you're dating and hoping to find your 𝙗𝙚𝙨𝙩 𝙛𝙧𝙞𝙚𝙣𝙙 and forever partner, here's me advice!!!

Go in with your eyes 𝙒𝙄𝘿𝙀 open.

Once you make that decision, choose each other every day.

Keep your relationship as a top priority. I believe the 𝙗𝙚𝙨𝙩 gift I can give my kids is to love and respect their Dad.

Continue to date and flirt with each other Learn each other's love languages and be mindful and intentional in showing each other you 𝙡𝙤𝙫𝙚 each other
